JBL Home Ranch offers a stunning location to exchange wedding vows and celebrate significant moments. An extraordinary setting at a great value, we’ve been helping to make special occasions as delightful as possible since 2011. We offer picturesque ceremony areas as well as a unique historic barn reception space. We are open seasonally from May 1st-October 25th as we are a working ranch. Contact us to learn more.
History of the JBL Home Ranch
This gorgeous 208 acres in the Briones Valley was originally part of the larger Periera Family ranch, which incorporated hundreds of acres of the surrounding hills. The property was primarily used for raising cattle and as a homestead. The Home Ranch included the hay barn which was built in the early 1920s. A small farm house, garage and shop were added throughout the years. As the ranch changed hands, more land was sold off and separated. Our family was able to purchase the 200 acres surrounding the home ranch in 2007. Sadly, the original farm house was lost in a fire in 2009. In 2011 the interior eight acres that including the buildings on the property were acquired by the Branagh family. Work quickly began in restoring the ranch to its original beauty beginning with the hay barn, followed by the tractor barn, pump house and grounds. It was named the JBL Home ranch for Jack and Lyn Branagh using their initials and incorporating the original name of “The Home Ranch”.

Our Style
JBL Home Ranch has been involved in some of the most beautiful celebrations in the Briones Valley.
Our family invites you to experience the beautiful JBL Home Ranch nestled in the hills and valleys of Briones, California for your next event. Our remodeled 1920’s historic hay barn is the perfect venue to host a few or many of your family and friends. The majestic oaks, redwoods and tree studded grounds lend for a picturesque setting for any event, wedding, birthday celebration or family gathering.
Rustic, yet elegant and charming for the ranch style occasion complete with beautiful horses in the back drop. Lovely sunsets compliment the surrounding hills in this private ranch just 20 minutes from Orinda, Lafayette and Pleasant hill. Just a short 45 minutes to San Francisco. Enjoy the wooden swings hanging from the trees, resting on the scenic deck or patios, or playing a game of corn hole or bocce ball. When the music begins, kick up your heels on our stone dance floor. The Barn
Our 1920's restored hay barn is the perfect place for a party. Complete with stone dance floor and western decorations inside, your guests will feel as though they have traveled into the "Old West". We can set up for cocktail hour and appetizers inside or on the spacious deck. Our family spent hours recreating the barn with Jeff Paige Construction paying attention to all of the details using kiln dried cedar boards that matched the original wood. The hardware, stalls, tackroom and old fashion bar set the stage for your event.
